Filter Your Google Plus Stream by Keyword with New Chrome Extension


If filtering your Google+ stream by circles isn't enough for you, check out a new Chrome extension that lets you filter posts in and out of your stream by keywords.

After you download the extension, you'll get a tab where you can input your keywords. The top box is for words you want to exclude, the bottom for words to include [ see above ].

Click the "add" button next to either box and a pop-up box will appear. Enter keywords like "technology" or "cats" (with our without hashtags) and separate them with commas.

Hacker Group Tweets False News of Terrorist Attack from NBC News Account

Hacker group The Script Kiddies hacked into the NBC News Twitter account and tweeted false reports that a suspected hijacker crashed an airplane into Ground Zero in New York this afternoon.

"We are working with Twitter to correct the situation and sincerely apologize for the scare that could have been caused by such a reckless and irresponsible act," NBC News said in a statement.

Airbnb Gets More Hotel-Like by Testing Concierge Service

To heat up its competition with hotels, Airbnb has added concierge services so that guests will not have to rely on their host for information about the area.

The 24/7 concierge -- at no extra cost to Airbnb guests -- will be available by phone to provide information like restaurant suggestions, answer questions about foreign travel logistics and even help file police reports for lost or stolen credit cards. Airbnb is including the local concierge phone number with reservations.

Social Music Sequencer Eightbitbeats Wins Best Overall Team at Node Knockout Competition 


Collaborative beat and music sequencer Eightbitbeats won best overall team in Node Knockout 2011 after a tight race in which over 170 teams competed.

The Node Knockout competition gave developers 48 hours to build a Node.js-based web app [ see our story here ].  

"In my spare time, I play as DJ in a german club for electronic music," Node judge Pascal Cremer writes. "I also produce music with artists which are scattered all over europe. This app could be one of the near future killer tools for real-time collaboration. No more sending .ALS files via email and waiting for the other one to respond – I love that idea :)."

Exclusive: Class-Action Lawsuit from Groupon Sales Execs Could Include All Employees

The law firm filing the class-action suit on behalf of Groupon account executives alleging that the daily deal company failed to properly pay them overtime is seeking to certify the suit as a class-action for all Groupon employees, founder and principal of Werman Law Office, P.C., Douglas M. Werman told LAUNCH.

Chicago-based Groupon, which recently delayed its IPO [ see our story ], employs more than 7K people in Illinois and California, according to the nine-page filing.
